Pets can also be rarely obtained as rewards for some story quests and as a reward for one of Charlotte Pine's daily quests. The animals purchased at Kit's Canteen appear in the player's backpack immediately, the animals purchased from Lee are sent to the player's mailbox at the start of a new game day.
Outdoor pets can be purchased at two shops: Kit's Canteen, that has two birds for sale immediately after it opens and can be upgraded several times to offer three birds and a deer and Lee Berry Dennings' Beastly Charms & Curios that has six random spirit animals for sale every day.
